OpenOCD churns a lot and breaks things all the time. Jeffw at
gadgetworks did a lot of initial work with OpenOCD and the mc1322x.

When I sent that email to OpenOCD it was working well (at least better
than ever before). Using jeff's config file:

There have been changes to the thumb handling since. But it looks like
OpenOCD has sorted out the core changes they were making and it might
be a good time to revisit it. Certainly after my last test I thought
everything was good enough to add flashing support to OpenOCD.

Back when I first started testing OpenOCD I had to make some changes
to the config:
