Not for the econotag --- I will probably add a eeprom to the ft2232 at
somepoint so you can program the USB identifiers.

To me, flashing that ID seems like the best way to go. Although I
suppose the microchip eeprom gets you a valid EUI64 so you don't have
to buy your own...
