[mc1322x] Stand-alone executable on top of existing Contiki system

I'm pretty sure that this is not feasible under the current
implementation of Contiki for the redwire platforms, but I need some
concepts to be clarified for myself.

The Contiki documentation states that any application can be built in
form of *.ce stand-alone executable and loaded into a running Contiki
system. Can this be done for the Econotag too? Has this to do with the
Contiki Elf loader, shortly mentioned in some parts of the Contiki
doc? If it's the case, then I remember Mar said in one of his mails
that the Elf loader was not ported to the redwire platforms yet.
