[mc1322x] IPv6 routing strategies

Jon posted yesterday a reply in the Contiki mailing list about the
differences between using rpl-border-router + Slip and the
linux-zigbee driver with a bare minimum firmware in the Econotag. I
understood the differences in terms of processing load in either the
PC and the Econotag for each case. However, I'd like to know whether
there is any functional differences or not. Is there anything that the
linux-zigbee strategy can do and rpl-border-router can't?
